One morning, George Hedgehog visited the molehill and called down to Molly Mole.

“Hi Molly, Igrene would like you to visit her.”

Molly came up a tunnel into the daylight, and its brightness dazzled her.  “George, please call me this evening when the sun is not shining,” she said.

That evening, George led Molly to visit Igrene.  Under the hedgehogs’ bush Molly was surprised to see Igrene with four new baby hedgehogs.

Molly appreciated being invited.  She loved seeing the new babies, but afterwards her own home felt very empty.

The babies grew quickly, and kept Igrene and George very busy.

One morning, Igrene woke first and went outside to look around.  It was misty, and lots of grubs and worms were squirming about on the damp ground.

Swallows were darting about, catching flying ants.

The Fazzi bird’s caw woke the young hedgehogs.  They trotted out and learned a lot about catching grubs and worms for breakfast.
